United Services Portsmouth Minis taking training on the road to Gosport and Fareham

18th October 2026

United Services Portsmouth (USP) RFCs Under 7's to Under 10's headed to Gosport and Fareham RFC for their first away training session of the season.

With HMS Temeraire closed due to the Great South Run, the visit allowed our young players to keep their rugby going, enjoy a different training setting, and continue developing their skills together.

For our Under 7's and Under 8's, the session provided an opportunity to build on their tag rugby skills, from passing and finding space to supporting teammates. Our Under 9's and Under 10's continued to develop their confidence in contact rugby, putting their training into practice as they learn the new elements of their age groups.

Away sessions are a key element of the season. They give players the chance to experience another club, meet fellow players, and strengthen friendships within their own teams and wider rugby committee.

A big thank you to Gosport and Fareham RFC for welcoming us and helping keep our minis active while our home ground was unavailable. Thanks also to our coaches, volunteers, parents and carers for making the trip possible.

Congratulations to our Great South Run Runners

Congratulations to all our parents, carers, volunteers and senior players who took part in the Great South Run this weekend. Whether running for charity, chasing a personal best or taking on a new challenge, you deserve a huge cheer from everyone at USP!
