Accessibility Statement
United Services Portsmouth Rugby Football Club
Last updated: 12 September 2026
United Services Portsmouth Rugby Football Club (USP RFC) is committed to making the USP RFC Juniors website, usprfcjuniors.com, accessible and easy to use for as many people as possible, including people with disabilities.
What web accessibility is
An accessible website enables people with different abilities and needs to access information, navigate pages and interact with website features.
This includes people who may use assistive technologies such as screen readers, keyboard navigation, voice recognition or screen magnification, as well as people with visual, hearing, physical, cognitive or learning disabilities.
We aim to make our website clear, simple and accessible so that players, parents and guardians, volunteers, coaches and visitors can find the information they need.
Accessibility Adjustments on This Site
The website has been designed and developed using Wix and we use Wix's accessibility tools to identify and address potential accessibility issues.
As part of this work, we have:
-
used the Wix Accessibility Wizard to identify and address potential accessibility issues;
-
set the primary language of the website to English;
-
structured pages so that content follows a logical reading and navigation order;
-
used clear and consistent heading structures;
-
added alternative text to meaningful images;
-
used colour combinations designed to provide appropriate contrast between text and backgrounds;
-
aimed to ensure links and buttons have clear and meaningful labels;
-
considered keyboard navigation when designing pages and interactive elements;
-
limited unnecessary animation and movement;
-
aimed to make forms, including our 'Join Us' and 'Enquiry form', accessible;
-
aimed to ensure important information is provided as accessible webpage content rather than relying solely on images or documents; and
-
considered accessibility across desktop, tablet and mobile versions of the website.
We will continue to review the website as content and functionality are added or changed.
Third-Party Content
Some parts of this website may use content or functionality provided by third parties. This could include embedded maps, social media content, external booking or registration systems, rugby administration services and links to other websites.
We cannot directly control the accessibility of websites, applications or content operated by other organisations.
Where third-party content creates an accessibility issue, we will aim, where reasonably possible, to provide an alternative means of accessing the relevant information.
Our accessibility commitment therefore applies primarily to the content and functionality that USP RFC controls through this website.
Accessibility at United Services Portsmouth RFC
United Services Portsmouth RFC is committed to making rugby welcoming and inclusive.
Our Minis, Juniors and Colts activities are primarily based at HMS Temeraire, Portsmouth.
As this is a Ministry of Defence establishment, access to the site and some of its facilities is subject to local security, access and facility arrangements that are not controlled solely by USP RFC.
If you, your child or someone accompanying you has an accessibility requirement, disability or additional need that may affect your visit, training or participation, please contact us before attending.
We will work with you to understand your requirements and, wherever reasonably possible, make suitable arrangements to support participation.
This could include discussing:
-
access to training and playing areas;
-
mobility or physical access requirements;
-
communication or sensory requirements;
-
additional needs relating to participation in rugby activities; or
-
any reasonable adjustments that may help a player, parent, guardian, volunteer or visitor participate in Club activities.
Please contact us in advance where possible so that we have sufficient time to understand and support your requirements.
Requests, Issues, and Suggestions
Accessibility is an ongoing responsibility and we welcome feedback about the accessibility of this website.
If you:
-

-
cannot access information in a particular format;

Our continuing commitment
We recognise that accessibility is not a one-off exercise.
As the USP RFC Juniors website develops, we will continue to review its content, design and functionality and make improvements where accessibility issues are identified.
We encourage anyone experiencing difficulty using our website to contact us so that we can understand the issue and, where possible, provide the information or assistance required.
